To remain loyal to Athletics Gauteng North (AGN) and agree to abide by the rules and regulations.
To
diligently, faithfully and honestly serve AGN and use his/her best
endevours to promote the sport and the good name and reputation of
AGN.
All
AGN members, officials, coaches and athletes should at all times promote the development of fair play
and sportmanship-like behaviour and attitudes. Fair play includes
the concept of friendship, respect for others and always participating
in the right spirit.
This
philosophy has built into it the elimination of cheating, verbal
violence, doping, exploitation, unequal opportunities and corruption.
Athletes
are eligible to compete for South Africa and AGN according to the
rules and regulations of AGN, Athletics South Africa and the International
Amateur Athletics Federation.
Members, officials, coaches and athletes will at all times conduct themselves in a proper manner so as not to bring him/her or the sport into disrepute .
No-ne
will make any public or media statements relating to the affairs
of Athletics Gauteng North in any way whatsoever, unless permission
to do so is granted by the President of AGN.
Should members, officials, coaches or athletes have an athletics-related problem or grievance, they must approach the Chairperson of the Club and endeavour to resolve the problem at that level, if possible. The problem should be stated in writing. A copy of the submission may be handed to the President of AGN. It is not considered appropriate for grievances to be brought to higher levels unless the normal channels of grievance resolution have been explored.
Athletes will not take any prohibited substance or use any prohibited technique, as stated in “Drugs and Doping in Sport” on the Drugs and Doping page to enhance their performance in any way.
Members of an official AGN team will observe, and comply with, all decisions and orders given by team management.
Wearing of the official AGN team clothing will be strictly enforced (no other clothing from any sponsor may be worn) at all public appearances until after departure from the last point of assembly, (e.g. at the airport), following the last event in which the official AGN team participated .
The conduct of a coach or official should be in line with that required by AGN, ASA and the IAAF.
A coach or technical official should never smoke, have an alcoholic smell or consume alcohol while coaching or officiating.
